FAA approval of AKV Inc's Honeywell T53 engine N1/N2 Engine Cycle Counter for the Bell 204/205/210/UH-1 helicopters

DART Helicopter Services has announced that their affiliated partner, AKV Inc., has received FAA approval for the T53 N1/N2 Engine Cycle Counter. Transport Canada and EASA approvals are pending.

Turbine Engine Cycle Counters are the most affordable engine cycle counters for the Gas Producer (N1) and Free Turbine (N2) in the industry. The Cycle Counters are valuable in that they allow the operator to obtain the most operating cycle life out of the engine when compared to relying on the pilot to accrue cycles. The pilot process is very conservative whereas the cycle counter utilizes a much more precise and less conservative process based on the engine manufacturer's cycle counting algorithm.

Cycle counters are designed to comply with the latest manufacturer cycle counting requirements.
